Film and Media Studies Program

The Film and Media Studies Program at Colorado College invites applications from creative practitioners with broad-based expertise in filmmaking and in writing for the screen for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2023.

Applicants should have a strong story sense; be fully conversant with the creative processes and practices of digital filmmaking, with holistic experience in the field; and demonstrate a commitment to diverse perspectives and inclusive and equitable practices. Ability to teach a range of hands-on, applied courses covering production, post-production, and writing for the screen is required. Preference will be given to candidates who can expand our curriculum to additional creative areas, including digital and analog animation and visual effects; cinematography; editing; sound mixing; or virtual reality, interactivity, and new media technology. Specific courses will include FM102 Basic Filmmaking, FM202 Screenwriting, and FM402 Senior Thesis: Creative, among others.
