Frame Rush: A Place for Screendance
London, 15.-16. March 2019
Please find attached and below details about a brand new two-day festival of dance films presented at The Place in London on Friday 15 & Saturday 16 March 2019.
Frame Rush: A Place for Screendance is curated and run by the postgraduate students of the world’s only MA in Screendance at London Contemporary Dance School. This is the first ever year of the festival and its' founders are the first ever cohort of postgraduate students to study for an MA in Screendance, an exciting and growing art form which brings together dance and film and explores the inter-connectivity between these two genres. Frame Rush is a celebration of this audio-visual form at the cutting edge of artistic innovation.
Whittling down over 2,000 submissions, the festival team has carefully curated five screenings of some of the most exciting and innovative works of screendance to date. From early 20th century screendance pioneers, to urban films exploring the beating pulse of screendance in contemporary culture, these screenings all speak to wider themes of breaking down barriers, crossing borders and defying conventions.
