Doctoral assistant in the area of Theatre Studies and Intermedia

Job description:
You contribute to teaching and research in the field of Theatre and Film Studies and Intermedia.

You will be assigned lecturing duties in the bachelor’s programme Theatre Film and Literature Studies and the master’s programme Theatre and Film Studies. Your assignment will also entail the supervision of bachelor’s and master’s theses.

You will compete to obtain externally funded research grants.

You coordinate the research fora and the external communication of the Research Centre for Visual Poetics.

Profile and requirements:
You hold (or get during the application period) a doctorate degree (PhD) in Theater Studies or a related domain.

The focus in your teaching corresponds to the educational vision of the university.

Your research corroborates and extends the precepts and interests of the Research Group Visual Poetics; your research shows a relevant interdisciplinary focus.

Your academic qualities comply with the requirements stipulated in the university’s policy.

You are quality-oriented, conscientious, creative and cooperative.

We offer

an appointment as a doctoral assistant for a period of three years, with a possibility of renewal for a further three-year period after positive evaluation;

the date of appointment will be 1 October 2018;

a full time gross monthly salary ranging from € 4.053,77 - € 6.319,49;

a dynamic and stimulating work environment.

Your application contains a 3-page research plan that corroborates and extends the precepts and interests of the Research Group Visual Poetics. You briefly lay out your current research and publications; your proposed strategies for attracting new research projects and opportunities; your ideas and strategies concerning (international) collaboration.

A pre-selection will be made from amongst the submitted applications. The remainder of the selection procedure is specific to the position and will be determined by the selection panel.

The interviews of the candidates, preselected by a selection panel, will take place on 27 April 2018.
