APPARATUS. Film, Media and Digital Cultures in Central and Eastern Europe. The group focuses on media in a broad sense of the word in the countries of Eastern, Central and South-Eastern Europe. Our understanding of media includes all material aspects of traditional forms of communication such as manuscripts and books. The group is therefore addressed to scholars of current and historical media in its entirety: early technical media, film, radio, magnetic tapes, television, internet, DVDs. The workgroup is grounded by the peer-reviewed open access journal "Apparatus", and seeks to expand the already existing network of researchers, reviewers and writers; to exchange information on related conferences, publications and other events; to serve as a platform of discussion among colleagues both on the state of research and on the situation around the academic publishing. You are welcome to join us.
